Weekend Watch: Emma Watson interviews author Reni Eddo-Lodge

We’re loving this interview between UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and actor Emma Watson, and journalist and author Reni Eddo-Lodge about her book, “Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race”

Around here at GAA, we love to carve out some time over the weekend to get inspired by badass, empowered women. And today, this interview from 2018 is totally hitting the spot, so we had to pass it along.

For folks out there who’ve been digging into Reni Eddo-Lodge‘s books and the works of Black authors lately, this chat with Emma Watson is a perfect companion to much of what you might be reading about; specifically, race, feminism, the women’s movement, and intersectionality, among other equally important topics. And if you’re new (or newer) to the conversation – welcome! There’s lots of awesome info here for everyone wanting to learn, so it’s definitely worth a listen when you (hopefully) have some free time this weekend.

And there’s great news for those of you who’d prefer to listen rather than watch: The interview is also available in audio form, as the first episode of the “Our Shared Podcast: Amplifying Black Voices with Emma Watson” podcast on Spotify. So, pop your earbuds in while you’re out and about (or at home, finally doing the “spring cleaning” you’ve put way off) and enjoy Emma and Reni’s company.
