WATCH: 23 Women Gathered in North Berlin to Create Ay Wing’s Newest Music Video

The energy that permeated Oat Milk Studios on the day of the shoot proved testament to the track’s deeper meaning, of which is part of a larger song series entitled the “Cycle,” representing each of the phases of a women’s menstrual cycle.

On a sunny Saturday in late April, twenty-three women gathered in North Berlin’s Reinickendorf neighborhood, at Oat Milk Studios, to take part in Swiss-born Ay Wing’s, special women run, women led creative project. The three-part video series brought together women creatives and artists from various music, creative and visual industries and geared the Berlin-based singer up for the release of her latest single, ‘Lift Me Up.’

Inspired by the Divine Feminine, which in and of itself is a spiritual lens that invites balance into the human perspective, all of the female artists involved in the shoot collaborated in unison and instantly created a cohesive environment, one that embodied connection and solidarity, but also radiated powerful feminine energy throughout.

The energy that permeated Oat Milk Studios that day also proved testament to the track’s deeper meaning, of which is part of a larger song series entitled the “Cycle,” representing each of the phases of a women’s menstrual cycle. ‘Lift Me Up’ follows the ovulation stage, where “one might feel their most strong and sexy,” says Ay Wing. “As we grapple with recovering from a global pandemic, this song’s lyrics are a call for community and collaboration instead of competition,” she continues.

A dazzling mélange of funk, percussion, and signature synths, Ay Wing, and the myriad of other women involved in the song’s coming to life on film, dazzles listeners — of all identities and gender expressions — while inspiring empathy, sensitivity, sensuality and creativity all in one.
