Tuesday’s Tunes: ‘take a number’ from Marian Hill and Dounia 4ever

Tune in to the latest collab from Brooklyn-based duo Marian Hill and fellow New Yorker Dounia. It’s a tasty snack with an extra dose of sass.

Tune in to the latest release from magnetic indie duo Marian Hill and smooth AF vocalist Dounia, a cold-as-ice electropop anthem that’ll unlock your inner badass. You might know Marian Hill, consisting of Jeremy Lloyd and Samantha Gongol, from their addicting tune “Down” or “Got It”, off of their incessantly cool debut album, ACT ONE, when they first came on the scene in 2016. You might’ve also caught on when their eternally steezy remix of Billie Eilish’s “Bellyache” came around and made hearts pound. Last year’s follow up to ACT ONE, the signaturely intriguing electropop handful Unusual, was just as juicy in the intrinsically crisp yet goopy Marian Hill style, with trip-hop, indie pop influences.

Now, the duo teams up with Dounia for “take a number”, a twisted tune about a quintessentially bad relationship gone intoxicatingly right. The music video is a visual representation of mind games, power plays, and disharmony all in a slightly disturbing yet magical Cirque du Soleil kind of vibe. Tune in below and get ready to turn your volume on high.
