Norwegian artist AURORA released a single last week that will put things into perspective in a deep and majestic way. Coming from a wildly successful debut album, All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend in 2016, her sophomore album, Infections Of A Different Kind – Step 1, last year was another deep dive into her magical worldview. Overall, her artistic direction feels dense with the raw power of her home country’s natural landscapes and yet airy with ethereal richness akin to the Northern Lights. Basically, her music is very connected with nature and AURORA herself is a Nordic daydream.

To say that AURORA wears her heart on her sleeve would be an understatement. “The Seed”, out via Universal Music last week, could be interpreted as a revealing look at humanity from a birds-eye perspective. In her anthem about Mother Earth and personal growth, she uses the imagery of the natural environment to expose the lack of care in destroying wildlife for material gain while also depicting her own struggle of being. The song itself is wild, unrestricted and seemingly in perpetual motion, just like the whales, rivers and trees that she names throughout the verses.

Her third official album, aptly named A Different Kind Of Human – Step II, will be released via Glassnote records this summer on June 7th. Be sure to catch her on her world tour this summer as well!
