Hey, music lovers – My name is Vakle and I’m a music producer. On the Talking Tunes podcast, I invite artists in to share about the songwriting and production of one of their songs! It’s a podcast that centers women and gender minorities, and gives artists a little free space to really go deep about their work. Today, we’re talking with Greta.

In this episode I talk to Danish/German artist GRETA about her song Waves from her debut album released in 2020.

“Stay true to yourself. As soon as you release something to the open there will be so many opinions pulling you in so many different directions and I think it’s really important to feel in your stomach what do I wanna do and what kind of artist do I wanna be.”

Greta

Greta is greatly inspired by nature and concept making in her songwriting. She goes into depth with her thoughts about working on a release for two years in this time where artists are pushed to release so much music all the time, and how she has been working on finding the core of her unique sound.

Greta and her Berlin-based producer Farao are both inspired by 80’s beats and sounds, which comes to show in the music they do together.

She talks about her favorite hardware synthesizers, fascination with funky bass lines and her favorite harps. And if that’s not enough Greta for you, definitely check out this piece we did with her last autumn, when venues finally began opening up again!
