The holiday season is rapidly approaching and we all know how stressy that shit can be, especially when it comes to buying gifts for friends and family. As you navigate this expensive (joyful, celebratory, hygge, gemütlich, bla, bla) mess, we recommend you turn your attention to some female-lead or supportive projects and brands.

Earlier this year, we spoke with Charlotte Thomas, the founder and mastermind behind “Concrete Girls“, the independently funded, curated, photographed and produced project surrounding badass skater girls across the UK. She basically created a small movement out of this skate subculture shining a light on women and girls, and now she’s expanded her horizons to include wearable fashion as well. Basically she is a force to be reckoned with and we want to support her endeavors and this rad female energy.

Charlotte herself said of the collection: “it’s important to me as a skater to give something back to the scene. Personally, I wanted to create a clothing brand for girls which I hope will sit along side the men’s brands currently dominating the scene right now but also the tees have messages which I wanted to get across.” She’s spreading that love in the form of these T’shirts; the adult version says “Welcome To The Family” written on the back and the kids tees have “Concrete Girls – Family, Friendship and Love”.

She continued, “it’s important to me that the message to young girls is that skateboarding encompasses these values. I believe it’s important for Concrete Girls to represent a positive empowering message done in a gentle way.”

Check out their website for the deets on the collection and how to order. There’s an option to place a made-to-wear order, where you literally describe the styles that you want to rock and they make something especially for you – a super efficient and sustainable fashion-minded move. Get on it!
