Musician, songwriter, singer and producer Amanda Wium is used to being on stage when she sings choir and plays the keys for Danish popular acts like Nicklas Sahl, Marie Key, Burhan G and Drew, but tomorrow, on September 18th, she’s releasing the first EPin her own name.
At the end of August, she teased the EP, Big World, with the beautiful and sensitive lead single “Worry” – a piano-led ballad evoking a positive message of not letting our worries get in the way of our hopes and beliefs.
Amanda Wium has taken on the challenge of producing and recording most of the songs of the EP herself during the last year where she chose to take a step back from playing live. The result is six individually strong tunes circling around her expressive and wide-ranging voice and a dreamy, synth-based pop soundscape.
“I’ve had loads of ideas and thoughts in my head for songs, themes and beats. It’s been an exciting process for me to build each song up and find the right mood. I’ve been so lucky to play with a range of artists who I respect a lot, but along the way I’ve also felt like trying out songwriting and production myself. There’s a lot that went into it, but I’m so happy that the songs are finally ready to come out into the world.“
