Role Models: DJ and Activist Aviaja

“I have been feeling somewhat wrong my entire life in some situations. I’ve felt undermined, held back and pushed back because of my Greenlandic heritage. That is why I do activist work, because I know how it feels.”

Aviaja Regina Antoine Larsen brings an amazing, warm energy with her when she enters a room. We were getting set up to film our new Role Models series, and everyone on the crew could feel it. It was the perfect vibe for all the conversation we were able to have with the Indigenous dj, producer, activist and so much more – and exactly the right mood to kick off this awesome series.

One thing I think is very important is that you don’t give a fuck about what anybody else thinks about you and that you go 100% for what you want.
