We’re loving @LovmandArt for the bright, humorous invitation to love our bodies just as they are!

Maybe it’s the colder weather? Or just the fact that most of us have been stuck inside and experiencing our bodies in different way these days (who else might never go back to underwire bras, makeup or shaving again?)… But there’s something extra timely about tripping over Camilla Lovmand’s illustration universe just *now*. Her Instagram @LovmandArt is full of fun, vibrant characters and scenes that prompt a welcome perspective on these conversations of normalizing – and celebrating! – all bodies.
“LovmandArt was first created to draw my self out of tough thoughts about being good enough and believing in myself, and my need to constantly remind myself to embrace how I am and how I look,” Camilla shared with us. “The culture we live in is embossed by self-orchestration, by searching for the perfect life and attaining material dreams. But the plain truth is that underneath the perfection we try so hard to curate, there is a naked body and mind which is already more perfect than the life we’re constantly searching for!”
We couldn’t agree more. If there’s one thing we’ve learned during lockdown, it’s that there’s a tremendous freedom in letting out bodies do their own thing! Leaving us with a parting word, Camilla says: “We are all different and should appreciate our amazing differences. My desire is to make people reflect more on themselves, and help them see that one of the most powerful things you can do is to EMBRACE YOURSELF!”
