There are lots of reasons to look forward to Fridays, and the fact that it’s the day most new music gets released is definitely way up there on the list. But the amount of new music can feel overwhelming at times, right? Well, we think so – and that’s why we’ve given life to a whole new playlist with handpicked musical goodies for you to fall in love with. We’re calling it the ‘Best New Music Playlist’ and the name says it all.

So without further ado, here are 10 new tracks that we’re digging at the moment. Listen to the full playlist below.

Amy Milner – “Big Bad Thoughts”

We couldn’t help but fall in love with the soundscapes that Suffolk-based singer and songwriter Amy Milner so beautifully paints on her new EP Big Bad Thoughts. Take a listen to the title track “Big Bad Thoughts” and get a sense of the vulnerability, honesty and pure power that make Amy Milner such a delightful acquaintance.

Ellis May – “ESC”

Danish artist Ellis May has teased her forthcoming new album Medicine with the pulsating and sky-reaching single “ESC”. The track is equally calming and disturbing, with the airy high-pitch vocals floating in and out of an up-tempo and energetic electronic beat. It sounds complex, and it is – but in the most beautiful way possible.

Eryn Martin – “Middle Class”

Stop everything you’re doing right now and pay close attention to this gem. Toronto-based Eryn Martin is here to stay, as she proves perfectly with her newest single “Middle Class”, which combines her love for pop music and hip hop beats. It’s an open invitation to party like the rich while embracing being broke. We call bullshit if you listen to this track and claim that you don’t wanna go to the party…

SZA – “Hit Different” feat. Ty Dolla $ign

Anyone else who’s been missing SZA like crazy? We haven’t heard any official solo material from the American R&B wonderchild since her critically acclaimed 2017 debut album Ctrl, but now’s finally the time to prepare for a new record to drop. And if the rest of the album is anything like the new single “Hit Different”, we’re in for a serious treat.

Chika Dole – “Bird”

Norwegian-Nigerian artist Chika Dole has released a musical portrait of the fragility of relationships. Have you ever been in a relationship that you thought was one thing until it suddenly changed overnight? Chika Dole has, and you should turn to “Bird” if you’re heartbroken or just need a new neo-soul track to close your eyes to for a second.

She’s just released her debut EP The Other Side of Waiting, which also features the lead single “Turn of the Tide” – an optimistic ‘pop perfection’ ode to the fact that things will be better.

GRETA – “Spin”

GRETA might be one of the hottest new names on the Danish indiepop scene and with good reason. The German-born artist has finally released her first album entitled Ardent Spring, and it’s a cornucopia of dreamy synthpop pearls to listen to over and over again. If you’ve already heard previous singles like the title track “Ardent Spring” or “Hydrogen”, start off where the album begins with the brilliant “Spin”.

American rising star Ava Max has been revealing a handful of tracks from her forthcoming debut album Heaven & Hell – including chart topping mega hits like “Sweet But Psycho”, “So Am I” and “Who’s Laughing Now”. As we’re getting closer to release day, September 18th, we’re treated with one more pop banger, the catchy “OMG What’s Happening”.

Poppy Ajudha – “BLACK JOY. BLACK PEACE. BLACK JUSTICE”

But this song is for everyone to reflect on, whether you’re in The States or elsewhere. Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, Poppy Ajudha created this powerful ballad after having spent most of lock-down away from the songwriting. Please take a close listen to this song.
