Roskilde Briefs: Here’s What You Missed at The Savage Rose

A piece of Danish rock history led by the iconic Annisette Koppel.

The Savage Rose debuted in 1968 as one of Denmark’s most loved psych rock bands, which means that 2017 marks their 50th anniversary. Lead singer Annisette Koppel stood stronger than ever when she screamed “Wiiiiiiiiiiiild chiiiiild” through her black hair with her recognizable, hoarse voice. The band proved that they’ve still got it: while they played classic hits like “A Girl I Knew”, none of it felt like a blast from the past. It was raw, punchy and cathartic—reminding everyone that The Savage Rose is a revered classic for a reason.

With people of every age, we swayed, rocked and sang with the familiar faces of The Savage Rose. Enjoy.
